Michigan has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Increasing taxes, especially on businesses, makes Michigan less desirable to job creators.
Michigan’s economy is in a single state recession. The unemployment levels are continuously rising in our state while they fall everywhere else. The tax burden on the citizens of Michigan is getting higher and higher. I believe that the best way to beat a recession is for government to let citizens keep as much of their hard earned money as possible.
As your Representative I will:
- Fight against any future attempts to raise taxes
- Work hard to identify and eliminate every single dollar of unnecessary spending
- Demand greater accountability for where our tax dollars are being spent
- Introduce legislation to reward businesses that create jobs
- Work towards lowering last year’s massive tax increases
