One of my first jobs when I was a teenager was working on a farm. I was mainly tasked with the menial jobs, baling hay, cleaning barns, and other jobs that nobody else wanted to do. It was immediately clear to me that farmers are among the hardest working people in Michigan. Agriculture is the second biggest industry in Michigan but it is an industry under attack. Environmental groups want to restrict their access to water, limit the number of livestock they are allowed to raise, and burden farms with excessive regulation by the DEQ.
As your Representative I will:
- Reduce the regulatory burden on farmers so they can devote their time to their farms
- Protect the mineral rights of farmers, including their access to groundwater.
