I will strive to continue this tradition in representing the 90th District.
As a native of West Michigan, I hold dear the values that built our area communities. Values based on faith in God, hard work, and charity to others have allowed West Michigan to grow economically while remaining one of the best places in this country to live, work and raise a family.
I grew up watching my father run a small family electrical business. Although I didn’t follow in his profession, I learned from my parents other lessons that were far more important. My parents believed and instilled in me that giving time and resources back to our community was the right and ethical thing to do. In college I was bitten by the public service bug and pursued a course of study in Public Administration. I immediately gravitated toward public service upon graduation as a means to build upon my college experience and out of a deep desire to contribute to the city and county I call home.
During my years as a Holland City Councilman and Ottawa County Commissioner I learned how Public Administration works in the real world. And while serving in those positions, I’m thankful that I remained fully employed in the private sector. It is that balance of government service experience and business perspective that I wish to bring to Lansing and with your help, I will!
